I know it has been SIX months since the last time. A lot has transpired since then. I will try my best to capture some of the experiences in the coming weeks. For now, here’s what I started back then and left midway.
Every coin has two sides. Every sheet of paper has two pages. And every discussion has two perspectives. If any of these – coins, papers, or discussions – were missing in the world, our lives would be drastically different. I mean think about it, before coins, there was barter system – unless you can give something the seller wants, you cannot get what they have. Before paper, there were cave walls and with the growth of population we would have run out space at least a century ago. The biggest difference maker in all of this would be the lack of discussion. No “Bouncing Ideas”. No battle of brains. No Arguments (Wow, that would be amazing!). But wait, if there was no bouncing of ideas, then it means no information exchange, no innovation, and no internet!! You probably will not be able to read this blog! Where will I go ramble about random things?? LOL!!
Think about a situation where you have a disagreement with someone – a friend, a family member, or a colleague. It is very easy to only look at your side of the argument (or the coin), and completely lose sight of theirs. It might even look like there is no logical explanation for their view at all. But people are all different and everyone has the intelligence to have an opinion. Otherwise, there is no meaning for being human.
Anyways! Every method of communication enables multiple interpretations. And sometimes, it is necessary to consider the other views. English calls these “Perspectives”. Especially with non-verbal communication, the reader is generally free to interpret everything you say in whatever way they want. So, respect everyone’s thoughts. Acknowledge the difference in opinion. And either agree to disagree or disagree to agree. At the end of the day, we all have to co-exist and enjoy life the way we want to. Have fun!!
